Angels of the Knights ~Fallon~ Valerie Zambito 9780615650135 Books

This book started out interesting. I liked Zambito's version of Heaven and different classifications of angels. It wasn't until Fallon went back to earth that the book fell apart.
She's supposed to be much older than her teenage form and the protagonist even admits that she can't relate to teens because she feels so much older than they are. But, she ACTS like a pre-teen through the entire book – basically a 12-year-old with a sword. I could maybe excuse this if the author didn't throw in the "love at first sight" crap. OMG, I just wanted to hurl. By the end of the story, I wanted them both dead.
The author didn't make me want to read this story. She didn't endear me to the characters, she didn't make me love the worlds she created, she didn't do anything an author should, but the cover art is nice. I gave it an extra star for that. I won't be reading the rest of the series.

Angels of the Knights ~Fallon~ Valerie Zambito 9780615650135 Books Reviews

I thoroughly enjoyed this book! It kept on pace for me, and I didn't realize Valerie Zambito had published this herself until I looked it up for this post! I've read a few self-published books that needed a lot of editing, but that wasn't the case for this one.

Fallon is a spunky girl even before she died. When she get's to Emperica (I'm thinking this is heaven) she is allowed to chose which type of angel she wants to become. Once she trains and passes the test for the Knight Caste, she's sent back to earth to destroy the Kjin.

I love the time period change, we start off in the 70's, and then when Fallon comes back to earth it's present day. Those of us who are older than computers, cell phones, etc can understand the shock Fallon has at all these electronics and the help/hinderance they are.
This was an unexpected surprise.

I was not expecting a solidly written book. But that is what I ended up getting in Fallon. There were twists, unexpected plot points, and character development I was pleased to find. I am very much looking forward to the rest of the series.

The characters drew me in, the world building made me feel confident in my understanding of the terms and tools and life of the characters. I wanted to read the next book the moment I finished. A very fun, good read.

Paranormal romance, where the romance was not in the way, but instead actually added to the book. Excited to continue reading more from Ms. Valerie Zambito!
I love Angel books. I don't know why but I seem obsess about them. I even got teary eyed. Um. yes, this one got me teary eyed just because of the angels. I mean, there's Guardian Angels, and I like how Zambito wrote about them. The three castes of Angels, Empirica. It was described that good. I dunno. My throat just constricts when I thought of Angels saving humans.

What I don't like about it is the romance side of the story. It's just... i don't know. Insta-love. And I was getting tired of reading insta-love with same plot all over again. If you want it to be insta-love, make some kind of twist. Uh, dunno what but as far as possible, don't make it insta-love. >_< I really cannot explain as to why I gave it a 3 star. I should have written this review yesterday when I finished it so it's still fresh in my mind. lol.
As an angels and demons book, this one's pretty good. I've read a few and many seem to draw away from the Christian theme, but this one seemed to embrace it. People who die are guided to heaven (Emperica in this story) and welcomed into the arms of the Creator. There, they are free to choose one of four callings, one of which strips the angel of their wings and sends them back to earth to battle the evil Kjin (or demons) and protect people from them.

This is the calling that Fallon chooses when she realizes that it was Kjin who were responsible for the death of her family and herself. Fallon is a strong woman, who is both powerful and fearless, yet still subject to emotions, doubts, and attraction. As she investigates an abnormal gathering of Kjin in a small college town, she finds herself unavoidably attracted to Kade, a handsome ex-cop who unknowingly worked with her predessesor to fight the growing threat.

Despite the instant connection between the two, I still enjoyed the romance and wanted the two to make it. The story is well-written and well-paced with plenty of action, romance and danger. The angelic technology and caste system is interesting, and the hints of growing danger and organizing Kjin build up strongly to the next installment, Blane, without ending in a cliffhanger.

Overall, I liked this story, but some might find the instant love a bit of a turn off. Still, the angelic science fiction spin is quite original, and the clean approach to the romance makes this a good choice for young adult Christian readers. And, I must say I love that cover art.

I picked up a free copy of this book from so that I could read and review it for a blog tour post.
Always a fan of supernatural and a true believer in Heaven. This book brought the best of both worlds! So original and totally unexpected!! There were a couple very minor goof ups but nothing to distract from the story. And oh how I loved the story! And how appropriate to finish in the wee hours of Easter morning as the book returns an Angel from Heaven! Knew there was a good reason that I could not put this down!!!
That being said I do think that some of it could have been better executed. More if the Fallon backstory, more time into Kades intro to her world and how he handled it. Also longer battles! It unfolded a bit too quickly. Especially since I read quickly and hated such a great story to end so soon.
That veins said I really am in love and so glad there are more of these books! I will certainly be reading them and probably other books by Valerie Zambito as well!! Very well done Mrs. Zambito. I hope you continue with the series and even find inspiration to go more in depth (there in making the stories longer lol)! I hope the rest of your books are just as great and what a wonderful imagination! YOU are a special person ;)
