Four The Initiate Single Divergent SeriesCollector Edition Book 2 eBook Veronica Roth

This review is for the second segment, The Initiate, only. While the first book of the quad dealt with Tobias and his transfer to Dauntless, this one covers his training and initiation into Dauntless. I thought it was pretty cool to see a bit of Eric's background, as well. (Spoilers: he was a jerk then, too!) I like how the reader gets a bit of insight on Tobias developing friendships and enemies with integral characters of the series, such as Zeke, Shauna, and Eric, respectively. Also, to see Tobias endure his fear landscape, endure the tattoo sequence, especially knowing Tori was curious about his scars, and to see the humanity behind the tough exterior he often sports, brought a bit more dimension to him than what we read in the Divergent series. All in all, very solid effort. Can't wait to see what's next.

Four The Initiate Single Divergent SeriesCollector Edition Book 2 eBook Veronica Roth Reviews

I like the series about Four even more as I read the books. I keep finding new things out about my favorite character in the Divergent book series. I also like how you can see Tobias transform from a scared, weak minded boy into a strong and fear facing man. I like learning about Four. I would recommend this book to anyone who likes the Divergent series and anyone who has gone through a struggle and was able to overcome it. Great book over all.
The initiate was a very good book.... I wish I could say more but I don't want to spoil it. So far I read the transfer and the initiate. I must say I'll be fool not to buy the son and traitor. Once again great job!
Good to see the different perspective but reading the same plot over again kind of gets old quickly.
I really enjoyed reading the Divergent story from Four's point of view. Roth does a nice job explaining what happened to Four in the past and what his thoughts are about Tris, with that story running parallel to Tris' story in Divergent. You also find out about more things that happened during the Divergent story time period that are not in the original book, things you would not have guessed, but that make sense now. Love that these are short stories, easy to quickly read through.
I just love these Four short stories! In The Initiate we see Four coming out of his Abnegation shell. At first he keeps to himself, not making friends or enemies, just concentrating on his training.

Just like Tris with the zip line, Four is persuaded to play a game of Dare and he starts to bond with Zeke and Shauna.

We learn how Four gets his first tattoo (yes, I was picturing Theo James shirtless) and he begins to understand the danger in being aware during the simulations.

I love Four's pov, I could read it all day. On to The Son!
Loved the Divergent series, but I did not feel like the books from Four's point of view really added too much to the story. I would have like a great more detail from his side. They were still good books, but I would not necessarily recommend them to somebody who has already read the story from Tris' point of view.
I love love love the divergent series so to reread it from fours pic is awesome! The only thing I didn't like was that the was two dollars to buy and it took me only five minutes to read. It can definitely probably be longer. That and I think I remember reading parts of the beginning of this book in the first one, Four, and I know I haven't read this one yet but I get a sense of dejavu with this book. Other than that it is wonderful and I am sad that the divergent series ended. FOURTRIS FOREVER!!!!!!!!!
