I wanted to use this to fill in a bibliography where we needed "one more book" to fulfill requirements and had used other sources for the vast majority of the information. It is simple, lacks detail and in my opinion, is written on an elementary level. I would not use or rely on it for high school level or above, and would not recommend it for most middle schools of any quality. It read as a book for a struggling older student reading far below grade level. Any school wanting a student to explore Dante's works in depth would want any student to know much more. Even Wikipedia's entry was far more detailed than this! I will not use a Shmoop biography again unless I use it for the elementary student.Product details
